OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Wastewater maintenance engineer on behalf of a national water and wastewater treatment specialist. The company provide a wide range of services ranging from cooling water treatment, chemical supply, management services and many more.

The Wastewater maintenance engineer will be responsible for maintaining wastewater treatment equipment to a high standard in order to meet customer requirements. A full UK driving license is essential.

The role will involve shifts of 12 hours (7am to 7pm) on a four on /four off basis.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out installation, maintenance and repairs of wastewater treatment equipment to include electrical connections and chemical/water connections within their competence/qualification scope.
  • Capable of building and maintaining good relationships through appropriate communication with internal and external stakeholders and also fellow staff.
  • Complete field documentation and reports and ensure that they are circulated to the relevant stakeholders within a timely manner.
  • Carry out maintenance on their equipment in accordance with any company or statutory prescribed inspection regime. Reporting any deficiencies or repairs required in a timely fashion.
  • Proactive in making recommendations to clients and/or Account Managers for improvements to existing systems and products, including detailed proposal as required.
  • Hold responsibility for maintaining an inventory of commonly required tools and spares for reactive works
  • Ensure all goods used are accounted for and invoiced correctly.
  • Comply with all reasonable steps to ensure their own safety and the safety of others. Complies with all current legislation and any prevailing site rules. Report any accidents, incidents or near misses in accordance with company or client policies.
  • Work to achieve K.P.I’s and hit targets set and agreed with line manager

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Can demonstrate engineering knowledge and relevant qualifications
  • Electrical qualifications preferred but not essential
  • Ideally have a related background and experience with waste water treatment
  • Knowledge of site health & safety procedures
  • Full UK driving license
  • IT Knowledge
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Commercial awareness
