OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Our client is a global market leader in the design and manufacture of subsea equipment throughout the world. The System Engineering Team is a multi-disciplined team focused on system project execution. Their role is to work across all packages within business globally, to ensure that they supply a successful subsea production system.

The Position

The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the overall system design for an integrated subsea production system fully satisfies the contractual requirements of the customer, meets all functional specifications, and complies with Company standards. They serve as a point of contact with the customer on all technical issues. You will be reporting to the Project Technical Manager or Regional Systems Engineering Manager.

A more detailed listing of the roles and responsibilities are provided below :

  • Prepare technical specifications and drawings in support of the System Engineering deliverable scope of work, eg: Basis of Design and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Generate system level project deliverable documentation, including but not limited to parking, lifting, testing philosophies, qualification documentation, tagging lists.
  • Participate in design reviews as required by the Technical Manager
  • Participate in safety reviews, such as Hazops
  • Conduct IDC reviews of documentation from other packages and ensure alignment with overall system performance and contractual requirements.
  • Manage, resolve and close out internal and external project interfaces
  • Communicate technical project issues to clients, and resolve technical issues and disputes as required.
  • Support system testing scope such as EFATs and MSITs
  • Support Technical Manager and Project Management team in Management of Change process
  • Manage MDR and Engineering Hours budget as directed by Technical Manager

 

The Person

  • Degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Interface experience of engineering specifications
  • Testing procedures and philosophies
  • Control Systems experience would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Be willing to undertake short term international travel assignments.

 

Benefits

Salary range £50- 65K. There is a bonus which is paid out annually, ranging from 10% to 20% depending on level. 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays rising to 27 days after 5 years, family private healthcare, subsidized café and free gym on site, range of Flexible benefits , free electric car charging points.

* Note – this is a hybrid role working 3 days from home and 2 days in the office.
