Overview

We are currently recruiting for a number of Structural Design Engineers for a specialist civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Central London.

The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for the structural design of residential renovation projects throughout London including lofts, extensions, basement conversions, underpinning and load bearing walls.

Role Description

• Design of residential renovation projects, lofts, extensions, basements, underpinning, subsidence and load bearing walls
• Working on own initiative carrying out analysis for the production of suitable structural designs, ensuring compliance with British Building Standards & Euro Codes.
• Experience in writing and interpreting design reports and calculations
• Ensure compliance with project quality management systems and health and safety procedures
• Build positive relations with a variety of external agencies such as Contractors, clients, local authorities etc.
• Work within deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and efficiency
• Take responsibility for own development and CPD

Skills & Attributes

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Be comfortable designing in all the main materials (concrete, steel, timber and masonry)
• Experience in the design of residential renovation projects, lofts, extensions, basements, underpinning, subsidence and load bearing walls
• Working knowledge of a range of structural engineering software packages is required.
• Be actively working towards Chartered (ICE or IStructE)
• Possess excellent communication skills.
