OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are currently recruiting for a Produciton Planner/ Contoller to join a rapidly expanding Engineering client based in Leeds. This position has been created due to business growth and the client is looking to grow its current team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a production planning within an engineering / manufacturing environment ideally with experience Mechanical / Electrical Sub Assembly/ Final Build. The successful candidate will be required to ensure all goods manufactured are produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications and to ensure distribution of products runs smoothly.

Candidates must have strong working knowledge of MRP/ ERP Systems ( Sage/ SAP is advantageous)

Required Duties

•Liaises with sales division to determine customer requirements

•Approve materials, costs, manufacturing equipment, and the size of workforce needs to manufacture goods

•Develops a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date

•Liaises with customers, suppliers, the human resources department, and maintenance employees to ensure all workers, materials, and machinery will be available when required

•Troubleshoots problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions

•Organises project paperwork, including purchase orders, and maintains records

•Monitors production and raw material costs

•Prepares reports about production processes for upper management and suggests ways to improve efficiency

•Internal/external expediting to include supplier quality and delivery performance
•Management of the open order report to coordinate accurate information for the daily/weekly production meetings
•To work with Buyers on any material delays that will affect production output
•To maintain all material routings

Qualifications/ Experience
•Previous Experience working within a planning role within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment.
•Excellent Planning and organisational skills
• Broad understanding of an MRP system ( SAGE / SAP)
•Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook literate
•Excellent communication skills
