We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join my client on a permanent basis at their site North of York. This role has been created due to securing a number of large projects which has made room for a new member of the team. The successful candidate will have previous experience designing a range of mechanical systems . Candidates must have previous experience working within a Mechanical Design role with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvements. Candidates must be degree qualified in a Mechanical related discipline with demonstrable experience in Mechanical Design .

Rose Description
• To provide design on projects, using the following Mechanical engineering skills:
• Completing, checking and approving mechanical design.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques, anodising, welding, heat treatment, painting, machining, cutting, folding and NDT requirements
• Material processing.
• Good theoretical understanding of material science for sub-sea use including galvanic and corrosion effects
• Structural analysis, scoping calculations, hand calculation and FEA.
• Familiar with inspection, testing and certification requirements
• Mechanisms and Kinematics
• Power transmission
• Assembly and maintenance
• Knowledge of oil and gas hydraulics.
• Mechanical Experience Sealing systems: o rings, seals, hydraulic fittings etc.
• Ergonomics
• Cost consciousness

Qualifications & Skills
• Degree qualified in a Mechanical related Discipline however candidates with lesser qualifications and demonstrable experience may be considered.
• Previous experience with AutoCAD / Solidworks + MathCAD + Ansys / Solidworks Simulation
