Overview

We are currently recruiting for a M&E Maintenance Manager on behalf of a well-established maintenance and refurbishment contractor based in the South West.

Operating for over 20 years, they have recently secured a long-term contract to provide maintenance services at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, Porton Down, Wiltshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious person to join a forward thinking and proactive business who prides itself on quality, safety and encouraging great teamwork. The candidate would also have a major role to play in the recruitment of a new team to deliver the new contract.

We are seeking a candidate with experience of working within the field of commercial mechanical & electrical maintenance, service and small works. The ideal candidate will be a driven individual with a natural ability to lead a team of engineers, whilst building and maintaining positive working relationships, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Management of maintenance delivery in accordance with statutory legislation and MoD Mandatory requirements, complying with all Health and Safety and Environment standards and policies.
• Organise labour and materials on site.
• Liaise with clients and sub-contractors.
• Managing a small team of electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Liaising with the office team to schedule workload.
• Comply with relevant standards.
• Managing risk assessments, permits and method statements.

Skills & Attributes

• Relevant minimum qualification (HNC/NVQ or equivalent) in either mechanical or electrical discipline.
• SMSTS certificate is beneficial.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• A demonstrated history of successfully delivering Mechanical, Electrical and Building Management packages.
• Able to hit the ground running, be flexible with a can-do attitude.
• Strong M&E/Building Services background.
• Proven aptitude overseeing day-to-day project management. Self disciplined.
• A good understanding of Health and Safety.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
