Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of Surrey County Cricket Club.
Formed in 1845 they are one of the most historic sports clubs in the UK.
As the Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that facilities within the stadium are well maintained and serviced accordingly minimising any break downs. This includes total preventative maintenance and responding to technical issues affecting the stadium involving electrical and mechanical repair.

Responsibilities
- Work, liaise and utilise good effective communication with a range of internal departments, external suppliers, service providers and customers
- Ensure that contractors are utilised in accordance with company procedures
- Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve, with minimal downtime
- Carry out the maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service
- Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
- Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management
- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations
- Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Ensure all personal protective equipment is identified, always available, correctly used and all associated problems are reported to management
- Ensure a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues, ensuring all health, safety environmental and quality management procedures are followed
- Provide mentorship and assistance to less experienced technicians.
- Maintenance responsibility for all mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
- Participate in capital projects at all stages of implementation through to commissioning including pre-delivery inspections & installation of new plant for area of responsibility.
Skills & Attributes
- The ideal person would have an electrical bias with a City and Guilds Qualification level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience working in a maintenance role with a broad knowledge and demonstrable skills across various trade practices including electrical and mechanical repair.
- Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent problem solver and trouble-shooter.
- Leads by example. Experience of developing others who have less experience and knowledge.
- ‘Can do’ attitude, always willing to go the extra mile.
- Ability to work as part of a team but equally autonomously when required.
- Strives for work to completed to the highest standard and on time.
- Commitment to a continual professional development programme.
- Knowledge of Oval Cricket grounds would be beneficial.
