We are currently recruiting for a Logistics/ Shipping Administrator to join a leading global engineering firm based North of York looking to expand the current team due to increased work load. The role is responsible for preparing all Import and Export documentation ensuring that all customers’ orders are delivered on time and in full, delivering excellent service levels to both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a similar role within the engineering/manufacturing sector with exposure to dealing with international shipping.

Responsibilities:

• To support the completion of Import & Export Documentation as required on a daily basis.
• Identify and assign commodity code classification as necessary.
• Ensure that import & Export logs (excel) are maintained.
• Review and facilitate approval of carriage/duty invoices to accounts for payment.
• Provide spreadsheet based shipping information as required by Department Supervisor.
• Provide cover in the absence of Shipping Department staff.
• Carry out all tasks in line with Health & Safety regulations, using good working practices to operate within the company policies and procedures & ensure good housekeeping at all time.

Qualifications/ Skills
·Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

·Have experience in a similar role working with international customers and posses a broad knowledge of shipping and commercial operators

·Knowledge of UK Export Licensing process and classification of dual use goods ( advantageous)

·Have good customer service skills

·Be able to work independently and in a small team

·Be highly organised

·Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
