The Opportunity

Continued expansion has created a new opportunity for an experienced Fork-Lift Truck Driver to join this leading mattress/bed manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the loading and unloading of vehicles, using a Fork-Lift Truck, to supply all production departments with materials to minimise lost time and lost production.

The Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will also be expected to liaise closely with the Production Co-ordinator, to ensure timely delivery of all materials, to minimise lost production time.

Key responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of materials and goods in a safe manner
• Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the warehouse and surrounding grounds
• Ensuring vehicles are safely and securely loaded according to guidelines
• Receive and process shipments
• Inspect and maintain equipment daily, ensure check sheet is completed and report any faults or wear and tear

• Operate within and follow all site health and safety guidelines

• Always wear personal protective equipment where instructed to do so

• Ensure that all materials supplied to production departments or in storage areas are stacked /stored safely and do not encroach on gangways or walkways and are not a risk to other employees/visitors
• To carry out any other reasonable duties or requests from management deemed necessary to contribute to the effective operation of the factory or site

The Person

The successful candidate should possess experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Requirements

• Fully trained and hold a full, valid Forklift Driver’s license
• Team player, able to work as part of a dynamic team with other operators and delivery drivers
• Good time management and communication skills
