Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Manager on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.
Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.
They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager in a small team, have responsibility for the profitable management and delivery of projects and small works to customer satisfaction by delivering on time, to budget and meet both quality and safety standards.
Projects may be throughout the UK but predominantly in the North of England.
Responsibilities
Financial / Commercial
- Deliver the cash and profit expectations of the project(s) under their management
- Maintaining accurate records of communication and job progress
- Previous experience quoting/estimating project and minor works up to the value of £500K is essential.
- Monitoring the nature and volume of any defects reported and ensure all justifiable complaints are speedily responded to and resolved
- Organising and conducting pre-construction planning and programming activities and construction techniques that improve productivity
- Producing and agreeing works programmes
- Ensuring prompt preparation, submission and agreement of the final account
- Analysing all possible opportunities to improve purchasing arrangement to effect contract savings
- Monitoring and controlling the level of additional variation work, ensuring prompt submission of associated estimates, receipt of instructions and that the work is properly controlled, recorded and paid for, including the appropriate contribution to overhead and profit
People
- Ensuring Project and Site Teams are adequate and suitably qualified to undertake their duties including all Health & Safety requirements.
- Motivating and managing the Project and Site Teams to ensure a high level of performance in delivery and H & S.
Customer Satisfaction / Business Development
- Keep the clients regularly informed and ensure client expectations are managed
- Ensuring the contract hand-over phase is adequately conducted, in accordance with the Company and/or client procedure
Corporate Policy & Procedures
- Managing and administering the Company’s Project Control Procedures
- Ensuring the Project and Site Teams are fully aware of and clearly understand both the Company’s and Project Team safety requirements and that they are adhered to
- Implement company procedures in the delivery of the project
Resource Management
- Organising and conducting pre-construction planning and programming activities and construction techniques that maximise productivity
- Ensuring planned site activities are efficiently carried out, with particular attention being given to the planning and control of labour resources and storage, control and utilisation of materials
- Ensure all resources are available and maximised to deliver the project on time, to specification and quality, efficiently and professionally
Skills & Attributes
- A proficient knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Role will be running multi discipline projects, Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric. Core skills will however be electrically biased.
- Experience delivering installations of HVAC plant and equipment in Commercial, Healthcare or Public Sector environments.
- Hold electrical qualifications. Ideally be a NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings
- Good negotiation skills
- Good IT skills
