Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Contracts Manager on behalf of a national Electrical Contractor based in Northampton who specialise in the design, supply and installation of Electrical Services for industrial and commercial projects.
The Electrical Contracts Manager will be responsible for a number of Electrical Installation projects valued up to £1million.
Role Description
- Oversee around £1m worth of Electrical Installations
- Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction
- Attend site meetings
- Manage multiple projects at any one time.
- Manage Supervisors and other onsite staff
- Must be able to review technical drawings for variations, valuations and take offs;
- Preparing documents from tender and contract with the architect and/or the client;
- Advising on procurement strategy;
- Cost control;
- Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments;
- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;
- Feasibility studies of client requests;
- Analysing completed work and arranging payment to contractors;
- Allocating upcoming work to contractors;
- Discuss and promote other services with clients and consultants that the company can provide that would maximise opportunities
- Prepare contract documents e.g. method statements and risk assessments
- Carry out site visits and surveys
- Prepare handover documents.
- Manage contract costs and variations including procurement
- Manage on-site teams & sub-contractors
Skills & Attributes
- Degree in Electrical Engineering/a fully qualified electrician or higher
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Must have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously Excellent man-management skills
- Previous demonstrable experience in a contracts manager role
- Experience in surveying and quoting for small and large works desirable
- Experience in managing a team
- Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation
- Experience in commercial and industrial sectors
- IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
- Full driving license
- Excellent communicator and possess impressive numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role
- Able to demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.
- Understanding and experience in managing Mechanical installations would be advantageous.
