The Opportunity
Our client provides bespoke personalised care and support to individuals who have a mental illness, physical disabilities and dementia. They provide a range of services to support and maintain their independence in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible, to achieve optimum state of health and wellbeing. They also provide live-in care services to people who need 24-hour care and support.
The Position
- Take responsibility for the effective management and development of the care service.
- Ensure all relevant legislation and national standards are achieved.
- Work effectively as part of a team and support all colleagues as required.
- Manage the budget for the service and prepare updates for the Provider/Nominated Individual.
- Represent the service at external meetings, forums and events.
- Provide day to day management and supervision of senior care staff and office staff.
- Ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained.
- Carry out supervision meetings with direct reports.
- Complete investigations as required.
- Ensure all Policies and Procedures are up to date and regularly reviewed.
- Ensure quality assurance audits of the service are completed with clear actions put in place for areas requiring improvement.
- Review all incidents and events for lessons learned and put actions in place where learning points are identified.
- Ensure Business Continuity arrangements are effective and reviewed.
- Complete the annual CQC Provider Information Return (PIR) within the required completion timescale.
- Ensure all Health and Social Care Act, Fundamental Standards and CQC requirements are met.
- Facilitate and take the lead during CQC Inspections.
- Ensure all staff receive effective supervision meetings.
- Ensure all staff receive an annual performance appraisal.
- Ensure all staff competencies and spot checks are completed.
- Audit and maintain records of supervisions, appraisals and training.
- Respond, report and investigate all safeguarding concerns and maintain records of all actions taken.
- To ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported to the Local Authority and to the CQC.
The Person
The successful candidate will hold a similar position and possess several years experience in all of the above key areas, and with the ability to work in an autonomously.
