Overview

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for another Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of a family run building services company.

Operating for over 60 years, they have a team of over 200 members of staff working for them. Their office is based in Kent, and they cover London and the South East. They specialise in high rise residential and commercial sectors.

As the Commercial Gas Engineer, you will join the service and maintenance team working on commercial sites in London and the South East. You will be carrying out inspections, repair & maintenance works in Boiler room / Plantrooms and some inspections within flats and apartments.

This is a permanent position, covering London & the South East, paying £45,760 per annum. This is based on an hourly rate of £22 per hour and you are paid fortnightly. This is working Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm with a 1 hour lunch break. You will be paid 2 hours a day travel time. Private use of the van is allowed. Other benefits include 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, overtime, pension, training, life insurance and BUPA.

The call-out rota is 1 week in 4. £170 for being on call for a week 5pm Fri – 8am the following Fri, £110 for the first 3 hours when called out the £30 per hour, payments are door to door.

Responsibilities

• Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial and heating systems.
• Response service, fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.
• Reactive and minor repair works.
• Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Rooms and associated equipment.
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
• Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

• Valid Commercial and Domestic Gas Qualifications.
• Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working on commercial heating systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
• Full UK Driving License.
