Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Bench Joiner on behalf of a leading manufacturer who design and install window displays for high-end retail clients.

Established over 25 years, they have 2 workshops in the UK and supply clients in over 40 different countries. Their clients include the likes of Louboutin, Lacoste, Mulberry and Calvin Klein. They have over 50 skilled workers in the workshop.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced joiner to join the team for this exciting role, reporting to the Production Manager. The job is to be part of a whole production team, creating displays and visual experiences for high street and high-end retail outlets.

Overtime is x1.5 on a Saturday and x2 on a Sunday. You will receive 20 days annua leave, plus bank holidays. The company closes down over Christmas, where there will be no work, but still get paid. Other benefits include birthday leave, health insurance, perkbox benefits and regular social events.

Hours are 07:30 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 – 15:00 Friday.

Responsibilities

• Learn and discover best methods of manufacturing.
• Ensure that all works completed meet the high-quality standards & safety set by the Company. All completed works must pass stringent Quality Control measures.
• To encourage teamwork at all times whilst ensuring harmony amongst the team however able to discipline when required.
• Act quickly to inform management of problems with quality or project lead times so solutions can be found, and potential issues rectified.
• Manage projects with flexibility to work additional hours to ensure projects are completed on time, which may include weekends when required.
• Maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the factory
• Act as a Quality Assurance & Health & Safety champion, promoting safety awareness and excellent housekeeping.

Skills & Attributes

• Experience working in a joinery environment.
• Able to manufacture high quality bespoke products.
• Experience in operating and setting up of workshop machinery.
• Ability to work swiftly and competently under pressure, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards within the timeframes provided.
• Proactive, can-do attitude and able to work quickly and efficiently whilst using your own initiative.
• An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
