Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Electrical Engineer on behalf of a mechanical, electrical and environmental services consultancy.

Established almost 15 years, they provide design, witness and advisory services to a wide range of sectors including transport, residential, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and retail.

As the Assistant Electrical Engineer, you will work alongside the Lead Engineer and communicate with the client and project teams. You will also be responsible for assisting in developing and producing reports, specifications, drawings, supporting/undertaking site inspections and overseeing testing and commissioning activities, following all health and safety, QA and environmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Electrical design work including specification for the various stages of a project from inception to completion.
• Undertake all necessary site inspections and provide relevant reports.
• Liaising with other professional or technical staff employed on a project as appropriate.
• Comply with all relevant policy, standards and statutory legislation including quality management, customer services and equal opportunities.
• To ensure that customer requirements are identified and agreed with the client.
• To ensure the delivery of quality assured, client focused products and services to meet the agreed requirements of the customer.

Skills and Attributes

• Ideally degree qualified or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Good technical knowledge in Electrical Engineering Design and current standards and legislations.
• Ability to write or assist with writing reports and preparing specifications/schedules.
• Ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office packages and Building services Software such as Amtech/Dialux/Relux together with Autocad packages.
• Well organised and good communication skills.
