OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Our client has specialised in aerospace non-destructive testing (NDT) for over 30 years. They produce all-inclusive study contracts, technical assistance missions and specialised training courses for OEMs and their suppliers, as well as airlines and MROs. Continued growth has created a new opportunity for an Assembly Technology Technician.

 

The Role

Working under the supervision of the Managing Director and in collaboration with the team your duties will include:

  • Working in H&S Laboratory practices and guidelines
  • Working in a laboratory following quality procedures (SOPs, LTs etc.)
  • Mixing and Mounting Cold Resins
  • Polishing & Grinding
  • Optical Microscopy Methods
  • Writing technical reports
  • Surface Metrology
  • Metallurgical Etching
  • Materials characterisation
  • Milling, Turning, Off-hand Grinding

 

The Person

All candidates should be able to demonstrate any formal qualifications and experience, and possess the following;

  • Formal certificated classroom training received from an approved training Outside Agency
  • A Materials background
  • Experience in mechanical testing
  • A background in Metallurgy
  • Laboratory experience
  • Carried out and written technical reports for testing programmes
  • You shall be flexible, organised, rigorous and autonomous, as well as being a people-person with good writing skills.
