Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Service and Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a market leader in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of sustainable energy generation projects throughout the Uk.
The Service and Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of industrial hot water and steam boilers and associated plant equipment to ensure a continuous supply to clients.
This role will be field based within the York area, but travel outside of this area may be required, due to operational demand.
Role Description
- Operation and Maintenance of industrial hot water and steam boilers and associated plant equipment.
- Carry out reactive & preventative maintenance calls as per operational requirements.
- Carry out fault diagnosis on control/plant monitoring systems including both low and medium voltage.
- Respond to emergency call outs on a scheduled rota basis.
- Operate and maintain plant in a professional & safe manner, in accordance with company’s standards and expectations.
- Use of and updating of relevant IT/IS tools, that are required by the demand of this role.
Skills & Attributes
- Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical experience background.
- Experience of operating and maintaining industrial hot water and steam boilers.
- Ideally experience of working on chiller and AC equipment.
- Knowledge of Energy Centres is desirable but not essential.
- Working knowledge of control/plant monitoring systems, along with fault diagnostics. experience on low, medium voltage and control systems.
- Sound technical knowledge of Steam systems.
- The ability to read design specifications/technical drawings.
- 17th Edition Electrical and/or an appropriate mechanical engineering qualification having served a recognised apprenticeship.
- Gas Safe certification.
- A good level of IT/computer literacy.
- Proven Gas Burner knowledge and experience.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise, in a proactive & self-initiated manner.
- A full UK driving licence and a proactive flexible approach to working hours are therefore essential.
