OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Assistant on behalf of a local authority affiliated organisation based in Derby.

The technical support assistant will provide technical support to the building consultancy together with the financial and managerial information necessary for effective Business Planning.

 

Role Description

  • Deal with customer enquiries by telephone, letter, fax and email gathering responses where necessary from officers and appropriately dealing with dissatisfied customers.
  • Provide advice and assistance appropriate to the nature of the request in line with the Council’s Customer Care Policy.
  • Assess draft submissions and pre-applications, giving advice to customers regarding the process to form an application and basic fee calculations.
  • Contribute to various stages of a marketing strategy, which identifies customers and their continuing needs.
  • Contribute towards the development of the building regulation application systems with new IT developments, including scanning, electronic plans submission and electronic payments.
  • Cover for the business co-ordinator during absence.
  • Manage the section’s general email Account.
  • Process all Building Regulation Applications.
  • Arrange meetings including the preparation of Agenda/Minutes.
  • Raising VAT receipts.
  • Prepare reports, statistics and documents and get them ready for presentation both internally and externally.
  • Actively involved in providing User Support and Training to all Staff on Computer Systems.
  • Comply with the company’s health & safety and environmental policies.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and legislation in performance of the duties of the post.

 

Skills & Education

  • Previous experience in an admin role.
  • Preferred, but not essential, if candidate has technical admin experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good organizational and IT skills.
