The Opportunity

An interesting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join this leading manufacturer of metal packaging machinery. The successful candidate will be providing engineering design and support functions. The role is within the Engineering department, working on new and existing designs as part of a multi- discipline team.

The Position

• Provide design input on projects
• Generation of ideas for developments and new products
• Be responsible for small projects, or sub-sections of larger projects
• Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation
• Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals
• Assist sales and marketing in the preparation of quotes and proposals
• Provide customer support and assist in the training of customer operating personnel
• Provide technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments

Technical Competency

• Bearings, Shafts, Gears mechanisms
• Structures, Fabrication and Frames

Qualifications/ Skills

• HNC/HND or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical
• Demonstrable experience working within a design role.
• Experienced in use of Autocad/Solidworks and Ansys/Solidworks Simulations
• Machinery design is essential, packaging experience would be useful
