OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Our client is a global leader for the supply of Remotely Operated Vehicles, Observation Class ROVs, Trenchers and Submarine Rescue Systems providing innovative solutions for challenging deep water intervention operations. Design and manufacture of these systems is based at the facility at Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire.

 

The Position

Providing engineering design and support functions, under instruction of more senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design input on projects
  • Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Offsite engineering support for new products.
  • Assist sales and marketing in the preparation of quotes and proposals.
  • Provide technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments.
  • Work within the timescales and budgets set by the company.
  • Ensure the suitability of the engineering aspects of company products for their function.
  • Prompt replies to production, logistical and technical support questions.
  • Provide design input on all projects as required, within the timescales set by the company.

 

The Person

  • HNC in design, mechanical, manufacturing or production engineering.
  • HND in engineering minimum.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques, anodising, welding, heat treatment, painting, additive, machining, cutting, folding, and NDT requirements.
  • Assembly methods and maintenance.
  • Completing and checking designs and documentation.
  • Tolerancing, limits and fits.
  • Drawing layout and symbols.
  • Drawing and document control systems.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/DraftSight, and SolidWorks.
  • Sound engineering knowledge.
  • Engineering design environment, one year minimum.
  • Engineering shop floor experience.
