Overview

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Operator on behalf of a leading designer and manufacturer of Solenoid, Rotary Switches and Electro-Mechanical Assemblies.

Operating for over 90 years, there products are often used in defence and security applications, for automotive, utilities, medical and leisure functions, and industrial and commercial automation.

As the CNC Operator, you will work under the instruction of the senior setter to set and operate machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner. Produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings and ensure all parts are produced to schedule requirements and quality standards.

This is a permanent position working 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:45pm. This is working 37 hours per week. Perks include Pension, Sick Pay and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Star RNC16, Citizen B20 and A32, Mori-Seiki AL2B and Cincinnatti Dart VMC.
• Work to engineering drawing tolerances, route card instructions and inspection procedures to produce components in line with the quality requirements of the business.
• Be responsible for the quality of parts being produced from your set up’s and on occasions in the absence of the Senior setter check and maintain the parts being produced from his set ups.
• Keep setup time to a minimum routing setup times are guidance only.
• Ensure the safety of yourself and operators is maintained at all times.
• Manage and maintain Health & Safety within the business.
• Responsible for maintaining and improving the existing ISO standards throughout the business.

Skills & Attributes

• The successful applicant must have at least 3years of demonstratable experience in setting and operating CNC turning equipment. Preferably the types of machines above.
• Be able to take instruction and adapt to different techniques.
• Have a good working knowledge of programming using Fanuc and Mitsubishi
• Be self motivated and have the ability to problem solve and be flexible.
• Be able to work as a team member.
