Overview

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a General Maintenance Operative on behalf of a well-know and successful FM and HVAC contractor.

They have over 50 members of staff working for them and multiple offices in the UK.

They a large portfolio of clients including Aldi, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Defence, Schools etc.

This position will be working on the Aldi Contract. You will be responsible for over 400 stores and will be involved in 4 x visits to each store every year.  The main responsibility will be installation of Air filters, general maintenance, basic plumbing.  Water temperature sampling, anemometer usage and taking temperatures within the stores.  Swapping out fire links in fire dampers and inspecting coils/ cleaning coils and inspecting duct work.

This is a permanent position with nationwide travel. Ideally, we are looking for candidates based around Manchester, Sheffield or Coventry area. You will also receive working away and meal allowance.

It is paying £28k+ depending on experience and qualifications. Van & Fuel Card. Private use of van is allowed. Plenty of overtime and weekend work available. They also have a bonus scheme.

Responsibilities

• To ensure all delegated Reactive Works orders and PPM’s are completed within the contract defined time SLA’s & KPI’s.
• Ensure the Client, Customer and Team are ‘kept in the loop’ through feedback and regular updates.
• Contribute to the delivery of a quality service, aiming for 100% satisfaction of the Customer.
• Communicate daily with helpdesk/Supervisor regarding status of PPM and Reactive tasks.
• To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.

Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer/Maintenance Operative.
• Background in mobile engineering/property maintenance.
• Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
• Beneficial to be qualified in a relevant trade (i.e: Plumbing, Carpentry, plastering, decorating or equivalent)
• Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services trades.
• Good customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
• Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
