Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of a successful Building Services company based in Wakefield.

Established over 35 years they work in a range of sectors including Commercial, Educational, Health and Retail. They offer  the full package from design, manufacture, install, maintenance and service.

As the Commercial Gas Engineer, you will join the service and maintenance team working on commercial sites in the Yorkshire area. You will work on a range of sites such as Schools, Hospitals, Offices and Health Centres. The role will require you to service and repair all types of heating equipment, including but not limited to gas fired unit heaters, air handling units and gas fired boilers.

Private use of van is allowed. Plenty of overtime and weekend work available.

Responsibilities

• Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial and heating systems.
• Response service, fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.
• Reactive and minor repair works.
• Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Rooms and associated equipment.
• Install new plant equipment when required.
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
• Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

• Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications.
• Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working on commercial heating systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
• Full UK Driving License.
