The Opportunity

An interesting and challenging opportunity has been created as they move into an exciting, new chapter of the business, with the creation of a leading-edge process division. They are subsequently looking to build a team of experienced Mechanical Engineers with a background in subsea design.

 

The Position

In this role you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary global team delivering industry leading innovative technologies that enhance output, while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions related to the production of hydrocarbons. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a part of the project organization, reporting to both Engineering Package Lead and Department Manager.

Responsibilities of the Subsea Mechanical Design Engineer role are:

  • To create, analyse and develop Product Design to meet customer or industry needs, having an awareness of good economic design and safety, both in manufacture and function
  • Produce and analyse mathematical models as well as undertaking mechanical design calculations, drawing design conclusions.
  • Create and maintain product documentation (requirements, specifications, designs, drawings, development, integration, test procedures and results) following company procedures.
  • Witness and support assembly and testing activities, including Mechanical Completion (System Integration Testing).
  • Adhere to stipulated Engineering Procedures, Business Processes and relevant Customer and Industry Standards.
  • To ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner in line with company health and safety guidelines.
  • To reflect and promote the company’s “BluePrint” of Commitment, Integrity, Teamwork and Drive.

 

The Person

Ideally candidates should possess the following experience/skills:

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably with three years minimum experience. Chartership preferred.
  • Processing, Pump, Marine, Structural or Piping engineering experience.
  • Microsoft Office, Teamcenter, MathCad, AutoPipe, Ansys and CREO (or similar) experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills.
  • Have the initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable creativity and ability to share ideas.
  • Work Environment/Safety
  • Positive and motivated to learn.
