The Opportunity
An exciting and challenging new opportunity exists at this leading M&E and Data Communications Contractor based in South Yorkshire. As the HSQE Manager you will be supporting and advising the business on all aspects of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental issues.
Reporting into the Managing Director on Health & Safety issues and the Supply Chain Director for day-to-day management and the Quality and Environmental aspects of the role.
The Position
The role involves:
- Undertaking external site visits on a regular basis in various locations throughout the UK
- Providing professional support and advice to the business on Occupational Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental matters
- Assisting colleagues and contractors in respect of compliance with relevant legislation, client standards and contractual arrangements
- Promptly alerting line and functional management to significant accidents and incidents
- Providing support in developing, reviewing and monitoring of the H&S Plan and objectives and targets
- Identifying areas of risk and developing measures to reduce and control
- Identifying initiatives to improve performance and assisting in addressing areas of poor performance
- Reviewing accident and incident H&S reports and investigation
- Managing any HSQE personnel
- Managing sub-contractor HSQE applications, completing of Customer PQQs and tenders as required
- Providing an Assurance and Audit role in the company
- Providing positive leadership and promoting the adoption of best practice in all aspects of the role
- Producing Q&E performance reports as required
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of the ISO 9001 quality system relevant to this role
The Person
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- Possess or working towards CMIOSH status
- Ideally from a Construction or Engineering background
- Full UK driving licence
- Demonstrable background in managing Health and Safety in a construction or service-based industry will be an advantage
- Professional approach coupled with excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills;
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Strong IT skills
- Excellent organising skills and problem-solving skills
- Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail
