The Opportunity

We are currently working with a successful and expanding privately owned business specializing in demolition, waste management, recycling and the supply of ready mixed concrete. Having grown rapidly, the business is continuing to invest to enhance the service it offers the civil engineering and construction sectors.

The Estimator will be part of the Demolition team and will report to a Director. The position is a full time one, based at our Office in Eversley Hampshire but it would involve travel to numerous potential sites. The size, complexity and geographical location of the projects vary considerably.

Responsibilities

• Understand the legal requirements (including health, safety and the environmental matters) for each tender
• Understand the contractual requirements (e.g. drawn information, scope of works and specifications) for those tenders
• Understand the industry standards that are required to be met
• Engage with specialist subcontractors, suppliers, designers and utility companies (or similar) to ensure we submit a competitive an accurate tender
• Establish what resources are required for the efficient completion of the projects
• Maintain good relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong estimating experience preferably gained in demolition, although Civils or Construction would also be considered
• Pricing work worth in excess of one million pounds in value
• It is essential that the Estimator has a full driving license
• Experience of a wide variety of different types of buildings and forms of construction
• IDE membership
• Good GCSE grade (or similar) in mathematics
• An academic qualification related to construction/demolition
• Excellent IT skills
