Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of a mechanical, electrical and environmental services consultancy.

Established almost 15 years, they provide design, witness and advisory services to a wide range of sectors including transport, residential, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and retail.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work alongside the Directors and be facing clients, responding to their needs. You will also be responsible for developing and producing reports, specifications, undertaking site inspections and overseeing testing and commissioning activities,  following all health and safety, QA and environmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Survey existing electrical installations and distribution systems and to be able to produce schematic drawings from survey on site
• Carry out Electrical design work including specification for the various stages of a project from inception to completion.
• Liaising with other professional or technical staff employed on a project as appropriate.
• Undertake all necessary site inspections and provide relevant reports.
• Comply with all relevant policy, standards and statutory legislation including quality management, customer services and equal opportunities.
• To ensure that customer requirements are identified and agreed with the client.
• To ensure the delivery of quality assured, client focused products and services to meet the agreed requirements of the customer.

Skills and Attributes

• Chartered engineer or working towards.
• Previous experience working in a consultancy.
• Great technical knowledge in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
• Ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office packages and Building services Software such as Amtech/Dialux/Relux together with Autocad packages.
• Able to guide and supervise graduates and junior members of staff.
• Client facing role – able to represent the company at client/design meetings.
• Appreciation of contract administration and project management.
• Ability to multi-task and work on several projects.
• Well organised and good communication skills.
